Frequently Asked Questions

Can you give me any links to sites I might find useful? back to top^^

You might like to have a look at these:
www.dsa.gov.uk - The Driving Standards Agency
www.highwaycode.gov.uk - Official site of the The Highway Code
www.theory-net.co.uk - Practice for your theory test online.
www.passplus.org.uk - Official Pass Plus website
www.dvla.gov.uk - Official DVLA website
www.driving.org - the Driving Instructors Association

What will happen on my first lesson? back to top^^

Your Instructor will ask to look at both parts of your driving licence and check your eyesight. He will then start your tuition at the appropriate level depending on your experience.

Instructor qualifications. back to top^^

Our Instructors are qualified to the Driving Standards Agency requirements and conduct themselves in a professional manor.

Can I have the same instructor and car? back to top^^

Yes. We will do our best to give you continuity by providing you with the same car and Instructor wherever possible.

Can I have one-to-one tuition? back to top^^

Yes. All of your tuition time will be on a one to one basis. Unless we have made prior arrangements with you that a Trainee Instructor or Examiner would like to sit in on your training session.

I have never driven before! back to top^^

That's ok, we are very experienced in teaching complete beginners. To get the most out of your initial training session we recommend that you book two hours of tuition. That way you will have well over one hour of actual driving time.

What's the best way to learn? back to top^^

You can book from one hour a week to as many as you like.

We recommend a block booking of ten hours. By booking two-hour sessions every other day in the first week you will learn much more in a shorter space of time making your driving experience much more enjoyable. Once you have gained enough experience reduce your hours and make steady progress towards your test date.

Can I do a intensive course? back to top^^

Yes, we do Intensive Courses. See our Specialist page.

We prefer pupils to make Block Bookings instead. As Intensive Courses can be very stressful for you as you have the additional pressure of a driving test at the end.

I want to do pass plus. back to top^^

We have Instructors that are Pass Plus registered. Before you take your driving test your Instructor will inform you about this service and the financial benefits you can gain from insurance companies. A list of the insurance companies can be found on the Pass Plus website.

Do you teach the disabled to drive? back to top^^

We are unable to teach disabled persons if adaptations are required on the vehicle. You are strongly advised to contact the DSA or the organisation that specialises in your requirements.
